Seriously Reid, Fuck You.

“Why wouldn't I call them 'anarchists'?.... They're not blowing up buildings and they're not killing people. But they're throwing much - monkey wrenches in the wheels of government.” - Harry Reid.

Is that what we anarchists do? Blow up buildings and kill people? Last I checked, Reid's been in favor of every act of war that's happened during his political career - things no anarchist supports, EVER. This is a personal attack, on me, that's on par w/ claiming all Muslims are terrorists, so that hypocritical, Statist sack of shit can go jump off a cliff. Couldn't be prouder to drive the monkey wrenches into the wheels of his corrupt, despicable machine of war and theft; and wish the Tea Party actually lived up to the term 'anarchists' like he claims.

  1. I don't want to defend Reid here, but I wouldn't get too personally offended by his comments. He likely associates anarchism with leather-bonded marauders from "The Road Warrior" because he's ignorant of the philosophical framework completely. It's also in the state's interest to label anarchism as violent even though anarcho-pacifism has a long influential history. I don't think it's quite accurate to claim, however, that NO anarchist has ever supported violence; although, I will say it's usually only advocated as a defensive posture.

  2. Not that I would consider it an excuse for one of the most influential politicians in the country, but I don't think he is driven by ignorance of the framework. I think you hit the nail on the head that he is politically motivated to marginalize anarchists as violent, much like Neocons 10 years ago were politically motivated to marginalize Muslims and Arabs as terrorists. I am in turn politically motivated to expose both sides for hypocrisy and bigotry.

I agree that not all anarchism is non-violent but I didn't claim that. I said anarchists cannot by definition support war seeing as it's a State function. War constitutes blowing up buildings and killing people and that self-righteous ass hat is always for it - he has no ground trying to marginalize anyone else by alleging that behavior.
