Following up on Zimmerman some more, this might have greater political implications than I previously thought. All the washed-up political leaders from the radical left - Sharpton, Jackson, even Jill Stein - are rallying around it trying to revive their agenda, but their tactics are outdated and their proposals horridly unpopular. The country refuses to get behind their race-baited gun control and Federal power-grabs no matter how hard the media peddles their speculative hysteria. This may turn out to be the final nail in their political coffin. We have already seen that Obama cannot push anything through using populism with that base; and they are disorganized, unfunded, and unpopular; no politician in the next election cycle will take them seriously.
